Shelly Boshart Davis is Linn County through and through.
A daughter of a trucker and a farmer, she grew up on a family farm in the Tangent and Shedd area. As the oldest of 5, starting at an early age, working for the farm and running equipment was no stranger to Shelly or any of her siblings.
After graduating from Oregon State University with a degree in business administration, she began helping her parents and siblings run the businesses and started their international endeavors. Now with the help of her business partner, Macey Wessels, Shelly purchased and managed the family trucking company. Her expertise in transportation and logistics helps share Linn County’s agricultural products with the rest of the world. Today, the farm has a global reach, shipping agricultural products – like grass straw – to farmers as far as Japan and South Korea.
As the resident expert on transportation issues in Salem, Shelly also uses her experience in agriculture, business, and as a mother of three to advocate for policies that will improve the lives of working families and provide opportunities for generations to come.
Shelly and her husband, Geoff, have three daughters and live in the country just outside of Albany.
Shelly is active in the community.
She has sat on the Good Government Council with the Albany Area Chamber of Commerce, the United Way of Linn County Board, and recently on the Board of Samaritan Albany General Hospital.
Her introduction to government started in 2016 when she was appointed to the Linn County Budget Committee.
Over her career, Shelly has been intimately involved with local agricultural and trucking advocacy, including with the Linn County Farm Bureau, Oregon Women for Agriculture, Oregon Trucking Association, and Oregon Seed Council. Nationally, she has served as President of the U.S. Forage Export Council, and she sits on the advisory committee for the Agriculture Transportation Coalition.
Shelly is passionate about agricultural education, having previously sat on the board for the nonprofit association, Oregon Aglink, and volunteering with three local schools through the Adopt-A-Farmer program.
Shelly is proud to represent her community in Salem.
In the Oregon Legislature, Shelly has developed a reputation for not backing down. Her first priority has always been to bring common sense and balance to state government. Over her three terms, she has fought harmful legislation and worked across the aisle to balance out Portland-centric legislation.
Shelly is the Vice Chair of the Joint Committee on Transportation, and serves on the House Committee on Business and Labor, and Bi-State Interstate-5 Bridge Committee. Follow her work in the Legislature by subscribing to her newsletter.
